Atlantis Dumaguete Resort - Philippines

Better known as Atlantis Dumaguete, they are actually part of the municipality of Dauin (pronounced Da-win), the epicenter of Dumaguete’s dive scene. With its black volcanic sand, Dauin is known as the Frogfish capital of the Philippines, and a unique destination for critter diving. Atlantis Dumaguete is located minutes away from over 20 local dive spots, most of which are marine protected areas, and offers day trips to the nearby Apo Island, Siquijor, and snorkeling with the Whale Sharks in Oslob.


Where: The Philippines, officially the Republic of the Philippines, is an archipelagic country in Southeast Asia. In the western Pacific Ocean, it consists of 7,641 islands. Atlantis Dive Resort Dumaguete is actually in Dauin, next to the City of Dumaguete (the capital of the province of Negros Oriental, Philippines).


Fact: The Philippines is the world’s number 2 producer and exporter of coconuts. Around 19.5 million tons of coconuts are shipped off each year to countries such as Japan, Germany, China, and the United States, making coconuts one of the most important contributors to the local economy.


Language: There are at least 175 languages spoken in the Philippines and at least 171 of them are considered ‘living’ languages. Tagalog is the national language and an official language along with English.
