Occidental - Cozumel

Occidental Cozumel is a unique destination that is inspired by a Mexican estate and gives guests the chance to enjoy the treasures found in the Palancar Reef off the island of Cozumel. Visiting this idyllic island in the Mexican Caribbean, just a 45 minutes ferry journey from Playa del Carmen, is something you should do at least once in your lifetime. Where: Cozumel is located in the Caribbean Sea along the eastern side of the Yucatan Peninsula about 51 miles south of Cancún and 12 miles from the mainland.


Fact: Cozumel is known as one of the best diving destinations because it is located by the world’s second-largest barrier reef system, known as the Mesoamerican Reef. The reef stretches out for nearly 700 miles (1,126 kilometers) along the coast of the Yucatan peninsula up to Honduras.


Language: The official language is Mexican Spanish and English is also spoken.


Foodie: Occidental Cozumel's 7 restaurants include 4 specialized a la carte restaurants (Mexican, Mediterranean, Seafood and International), 2 buffet restaurants, and a Pizzeria open until 1:30 am.
